Dad’s Kale Chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch kale ( either curly or tuscan )

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • 1 Tbsp minced shallot

  • 1 tsp favorit salted seasoning blend ( I use Savory Salt from www.gindos.com )

  • 1 to 2 tsps of olive oil ( a drizzle )

Directions:

  1. Wash your kale bunch and let dry completely. Preheat oven to 270º.

  2. Start by slicing your kale along each stem, so as to remove the leaf from the stem ( you don’t want to bake the stem… it doesn’t work out well ) and coarsely chop

  3. Place your chopped kale leaves into a large ziplock bag and add your remaining ingredients, seal the bag and toss together thoroughly.

  4. Spread kale evenly over a baking sheet. Try not to let the leaves overlap one another, you might need to use 2 baking sheets to make this work.

  5. Place your kale in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. remove and flip your leaves over to the opposite side and bake for an additional 15 minutes

  6. Remove from the oven, spread leaves across some paper towels and let cool. Now try not to finish them all in one sitting… I dare you!
