Dad’s High Protein Spread

Ingredients:

  • 15 oz can chick peas

  • 4 oz chopped mushrooms

  • 1 minced carrot

  • 3 minced garlic cloves

  • 1/4 cup minced red onion

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil to start ( after your initial blend of the ingredients you can check the consistency and determine wether or not your want to add more olive oil for a creamier texture )

  • Sea salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Combine chick peas, mushrooms, carrot, garlic, onion, 1 Tbsp of olive oil, approximately a 1/2 tsp of sea salt and cracked pepper in a blender or food processor and blend on high until ingredients begin to form a paste like texture.

  2. Taste your spread and add more sea salt and cracked pepper if needed, add more olive oil for a creamier texture.

  3. Blend on high one last time, taste and enjoy as a spread on your morning toast, a dip or a spread for a sandwich!
