Dad’s Crispy Broccoli

Do you have someone in your family that is having some “issues” with broccoli?? If this sounds like your home then you should try this crispy broccoli recipe. Flavored with my addictive Bagel Blend of spices, this recipe will get even the toughest of critics asking for seconds.

Ingredients:

  • 2 heads of broccoli

  • 2 tsps Berts Bagel Blend ( or everything bagel spice of your choosing )

  • 1 tsp minced garlic & shallot

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil or melted clarified butter.

  • Pinch of red chili flakes ( pizza chilis ) if you’d like a little heat

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400º F. Wash broccoli heads thoroughly and let dry for an hour or so. The dryer the broccoli the crispier the broccoli.

  2. chop and coarsely slice the broccoli florets, combine the florets with remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl or ziplock bag and toss together until broccoli is evenly coated with spice and olive oil.

  3. Lay florets out on a baking sheet and arrange so they are not lying on top of one another. ( you may need two baking sheets depending on how many florets your broccoli heads have produced )

  4. Place sheets in oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove, flip florets and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Remove let cool and enjoy as a side, snack, garnish or use them as a crouton in a salad.
